Diversions

Diversions within vMonarch are permitted, but their use is not encouraged. We understand that pilots may wish to simulate failures or use addons, such as PACX from TFDi Design, that create medical emergencies for crews to simulate.

Any pilot who excessively diverts their aircraft may be approached by the Staff Team for a discussion. When choosing which airport to divert to, you should consider whether any other Monarch routes fly in there, as it means ground handlers will be familiar with the aircraft and understand the procedures of the airline. You should also consider the reason for the diversion, and if you need special assistance or even maintenance after landing.

Diversion Requirements

Where possible, pilots must divert to a vMonarch home base. This keeps the aircraft in the ecosystem where it can be used to reposition back to it's original base or continue onwards.

If overseas from the UK, it is preferred to land at a company airport within the route network.

If unable to land at a UK base or overseas destination, diversion to another closer airport is permitted.

When landing at a company airport, an scheduled flight will then be automatically booked in vAMSYS to continue on to your original destination. If you land at a non-company airport, you will be given a choice to relocate back to your origin, or to the destination, but you will not be able to fly this route.
